things I have been doing

What a week. I have a lot of projects going on in my creative space. I have won the fabric of the week contest and I am still very excited. I ordered the five yards of fabric and I hope it will be here this/next week. I ordered two new patterns =)
I have also made a few new things for the shop. Some brooches, bags and I am working on some pouches/clutches. (I have to make some good photo's of the new bags) I am planning to participate in a crafty markt in September so I am also making a few cute packages.

My sister got a new mobile phone so I made her a branch new phone case. See the picture.

I will add the new items this week.

Making

I forgot to mention that my best friend let me made this awesome pie! She used my dandelion design and an illustration I once made of her. I think it is a very original gift for my graduation =) and the pie tastes very good!! it is almost finished :p


Today I've been very busy sewing and etching. I bought an etch pen last week and I tried it on a jar. It is very funny to do.

I also made two new bags from my dandelion fabrics. I think they look very feminine and cute =). The bottom is made of sky leather. I will drop them in the shop soon. The brooches are included.

Tonfisk

If I ever win the lottery or when I am starting to make big money, the first thing I am going to buy is this Tonfisk tea set. I realy love the design of Tonfisk. The combination off wood and ceramic.



I am working on another bag with my dandelion fabric. I am going to add some other products soon at the shop. I have some other journals and brooches.
I made some flyers for the exhibition and now I am going to make some other business cards.

graduated !!!

Woohoo I am graduated!! I am so happy. Now I have to look for a real job :p.
All the work is going to be exhibited from the 26th of june until the 6th of july. For the dutchies: The graduation expo from the Willem de Kooning Academy students is shown at Las Palmas II (www.LP2.nl) and the HUF building in Rotterdam. For visitors 27th of june until the 5th of july.

Big bag Branch

My bag is finished and here is a photo! This week I am going to make better pictures of the bag for the website. Big bag Branch is a very useful bag. It has two little side pockets. One pocket outside with a zipper and a big pocket inside with a keyring so you never loose your keys in this big bag. It has two wooden handels and a strap. You can loose the strap. The bag is made with my own designed cotton fabric and sky. The interior of the bag is lined with light weight black cotton fabric.

At the moment I am working on the organize tree and some special file folders.
I am thinking of re-designing my website. Not the layout but make it more functional. Unfortunately I don't have time to do it before my exam. So that will be the first project after I am graduated

The museum online

It is a bit quiet around here but I am working my ass off for my graduation. This week I finished my digital educative product.
It is a website that gives and introduction about the museum for highschool students. What does a museum do and what kind of people are involved by the different processes in the museum. The internet site is usable by means of a project in the class. The students learn about the different activities of the museum. So there are different assignments.
We made a couple of small films in the depot (I don't know if that is the right word). But the films turned out really nice. The website is in Dutch so the international people can't read it but there are also some pictures and you can watch the films. (the small films are at the 'collectie' part) The films on the other pages are an introduction film that we don't want on the site but because it is a concept we put it there. Later there are coming better films on that spot.

I also worked on my Branch new line. The bag is finished but I don't have a picutre yet. I will post that later on. And I have some great ideas for the stationery part but have to work some things out. I only have two weeks so I have to hurry hurry hurry!!! HELP! ;)

Evaluation

Last week I had my last evaluation before my exam in june. everything went well. I still have to make a few things for the 'paper' part and I decided to transfer it into stationery. I already have a few good ideas.

I also want to thank Lisette from little-z for giving me an award and nice words.

Mugs

Yeah! my mugs are ready and I think they are really cool! It was the first time that I made mug shapes, poured and glaze them. And they came out really nice! I handcarved every mug so they are all unique.

I also sold another bag by DaWanda. My dawanda shop will close on 15/05/2009 so hurry ;)

New Fabric

After I received my own designed fabric from spoonflower I was very curious how my other patterns will turn out on fabric so I ordered 1yard of each of my dandelion designs.
I know it takes a few weeks to arrive but I can't wait to see them!

I also ordered some ginko earrings at strawberryforest They have sale. So very good prices ;).

Lena Corwin

I am still working in the ceramic work place on my mugs. I poured them and added my pattern to it. Today they have been baked and monday I am going to glaze them. I am very curious how they will become.

I just ordered a book of Lena Corwins entitled Printing by Hand: A Modern Guide to “Printing with Handmade Stamps, Stencils, and Silk Screens". I heard great stories about this book so I am very excited about it.

Working on new items

I worked all day in the ceramics workspace at school. I have made two shapes and will make / pour my own mugs next week. I don't exactly know what I am going to do with them. Paint a pattern or scratch a pattern in it. We'll see.

I also made a new bag for my Branch New line. It is a handbag. You can loose the handle.

Now I have to focus on the 'paper' part. I have a lot illustrations but I have to figure out what to make with them.

Shopping bag Branch New

This is a shopping bag made with my own branch fabric. It has also a small round chalkboard were you can put on your messages. So you don't forget what you need and it is also good for the environment because you don't have to use paper.

I also made some brooches with a chalkboard. So you can put an everyday message on it. Maybe your mood of the day. I hope these will be available in the Branch New shop.

New name

As you can see I have a new header on my blog. That is because there was some fuss about my line name. My teachers at school thought that the name 'Branch Naturals' would mislead the costumers that I sell ecological products and they thought that I was hipper than the name. So I had to change the name unfortunately. I want to hold the branch part because that fits my line and came up with Branch New. With a dubbel layer; a new branch, give branch a new function..
The 'by Mo' part is because I work under the name Mo.. Marieke Ooms. The line is made bij Mo so that is why I have add it to the name.

I hope you like the new name.

Brooches

Today I made three brooches for my Branch Naturals line. I had some wood slices and draw/painted my illustrations on it. I still have to varnish them. So it is protected against water and dirt.
It is made of wood and the image is made with a black pen and acrylpaint.
Still want to make a few with fabric. That is my next project. =)

Change indexpage

I changed the indexpage of my website www.strawbunny.nl This because I will launch my new line Branch Naturals in june 2009. I still have to make the webshop though :s. This will go with a little help of a friend. I am not really an webmaster. I am still looking for good software to use for my webshop. I want software that is not to difficult and were you can use your own lay-out. Maybe you know something...?

I hope it will going to look a bit like what the index page looks like..

My new fabric!!

Yay! I just got my 3inch of fabric in the mail and I am sooooo happy with it!! it is very beautiful and so great that I can make some cool stuff with my own designed fabric. woohoo!!!
Here are some pictures and soon I am going to make some lovely things.

Branch Naturals

Last week I've been working on some new things for my line. Next monday I have to show what I have until now (at school) for this project so I wanted to make some new things.
I started with this mug holder. I wanted the wood round the mug but that was not possible because the wood was to soft so I made two versions. One with my Branch Naturals logo and one with a green stripe.

Yesterday I made an other book. A few weeks ago I found this beautiful wooden onderleggers. I made a book of it with felt.
It turned out pretty nice. It is beginning to look like something but I still have to make a lot.
I hope the branch naturals shop is online in june!
